Didn't the Jockey Club have a rule at one point about 140, that they revoked? Authentic was barely off the track and not even acclimated to his new status and they put him to work quickly to breed 230+ mares. I don't mind saying I am not in favor of the way stallions are excessively bred. (broodmares either) and would like to see a cap put on the number of times they could be bred every year.... Seems like not good for the breed or the individual horses either, heart-wise / health wise esp. if it involves shuttling around. Even back in 2021, the same 12 North American TB stallions serviced more than 200 mares for that one breeding season. Can't see this being good for our breeding program either.
